Halo & Me

First things first, I think an introduction is neccessary today since you probably don't know much about me. Well, My name is Rob and I'm an 18 year old gamer from Southampton England. I'm currently studying Media Studies, Film Studies and English Literature & Language at college in the hopes to become a journalist or reviewer for a film or gaming magazine. I've been gaming for 15 years and have enjoyed every single moment from the first day I played Super Street Fighter II to now playing the likes of Halo 3. I'm a movie enthusiast and love watching films. Ridley Scott and Quentin Tarantino are my heroes of the movie world and are absolute geneiouses. I'm sure that's all you really need to know about me :)

So onto my gaming escapades. The past 2 days have been amazing. I have rekindled my love for the Halo franchise. I spent the whole of yesterday boosting every online achievement on Halo 3 (I have earned them all legit on previous tags, so I don't see a problem). I then spent today finishing the campaign for the 5th time to try and complete the achievements, although I'm just waiting to finish it on Legendary. I moved on to Halo 3: ODST afterwards and tried to finish up as much of the campaign as possible, but I had a really bad case of handcramp. Yes kids, playing Halo for 8 hours straight has a bad effect on your body I'm afraid, so don't try it.

I'm sure you've read enough by now, so I won't bore you any longer. I'll blog again in a while my good friends :)

Back To The Box

After having 4 Xbox 360's get the Red Ring of Death, you would think it would be time to move on elsewhere. Well, you would be wrong to think that. Yes, I went out and purchased my 5th Xbox 360. But at least I'll get a 3 year warranty from Microsoft this time (compared to my last consoles that were pre-owned and registered in other people's names) so it isn't such a bad move on my part. I also thought it was time for a fresh start, so I have begun again with a new gamertag. Yes, you probably think I'm crazy for throwing away 40k worth of gamerscore, but it really doesn't bother me. It allows me to replay through some great games like Mirror's Edge and Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is great in my eyes.

In other news, I picked up Halo 3: ODST and Fifa 10 with my new Xbox 360 and I have to say that both are fantastic games. Be sure to check back here when I get reviews posted over at ConsoleHeroes.com. Also renting Need for Speed: Shift for a while and it has impressed me so far and almost takes the racing crown from Forza Motorsport, but Forza just has a certain edge. Well that's it for my first entry. I'm sure you have more important matters to attend to anyway. Catch you next time people.
